Default AC cord modification

Hi all,

I'm tonyv, proud owner of serial number 010 (I just love that number!)

I don't like dangly cords, so I modified the back panel to add a standard computer cord socket. I'll attach a photo, if I can figure out how.

Nicely done, that looks good.

Have you finished the rest of it yet? How's it running?

Thanks!

I'm not up and running yet -- I've only had one day to work on it.
So far, I've lacquered the faceplate, then modified the AC cord, as shown.

Next, I'm planning to do something similar to what you did with push-buttons.
I've got some scrap 1" square extruded aluminum tubing with just the right wall thickness for the buttons. I plan to cut it down the middle to create a u-channel, add button holes, and then mount it inside the case.

Instead of screws, I'm thinking I might try industrial-strength velcro (the kind with the plastic nubs instead of hair), to hold this "button-bar". If that is too thick, I'll probably use some 1/16" thick vinyl-backed double stick tape that I have.

Lots of fun ahead, and I plan on taking my time -- good kits are so rare, these days. My first computer was a Heathkit (over 20 years ago!!!), and this is the most exciting kit I've come across since.
