I have an original 8800 that I built when they first came out. I would like to upgrade the power supply. would you share information on the commercial power supplies you are using in the new kit?

Yes.

One of them is a 7.5v 100W and the other is +5/+15/-15v 60W. Both supplies have a trim screw to raise the voltage of each by 10%. This will bring the voltages into S-100 spec of 8v and 16v. However I've been running my altair on 7.5v and 15v for a while know. Seems to reduce heat quite a bit and not cause any negative operation.

Power Factor has several power supplies larger than 100W. The largest is 320W at 7.5v. PLENTY for an S-100 system! :)

Thanks again, Grant.

My original 8800b had been running for years with 7.6 V actual on the 8 V unregulated lines.
