View Full Version : Possible capacitor packing mistake???

It is possible that the capacitor marked .001uf is actually .01uf. This capacitor would have been used on the CPU board. One kit builder found this in his kit, but of course another kit builder has his working!

I'm not sure if using the .01 capacitor where a .001 should have been will cause any problems. I will look into it before I scare everyone with an official e-mail. :)

Regarding the protect line capacitor, I built the kit originally with the .01 cap that was in the package and replaced it later with a .001. It didn't really make much difference that I could see. In both cases, the 1k memory board tends to power up in protect mode, but I can just hit the unprotect switch and it's fine. With the .01 cap, I think it went into protect mode when I hit reset too, but I'm not sure now.
Anyway, I don't consider that a problem.
